Project
The first step in the process was developing a core concept based on the requirements set forward by our client. They wanted a modern, sleek home, with lots of colour. Following this we put forward our design estimate breaking down all the costs involved including surveys, production of drawings, permissions etc. Once agreed, surveys were undertaken before proposed designs were drawn up, including floor plans and elevations showing the layout and external look of the home. The stand out features of this home are the standing seam wall sections and roof, the resin driveway and elevated front entrance, and the rear balcony with uninterupted views over the Norfolk countryside.
At this point, once all aspects were approved by the client, the designs were put forward to the planning department for their comments and subsequent approval, meaning we had the permission in place to push ahead with the project. Before construction could commence, further technical detail was added to the drawings pack such as structural calculations, fire safety measures, insulation details, and more. These were then forwarded to building regulations to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
The final stage of this project was to create construction drawings, which were then issued to a group of selected contractors for construction estimates. Once the contractor was selected, the project was handed over to them for management of the construction process. The only element we provided here was a 32ft static caravan for the client to use as temporary accommodation whilst works were undertaken.
Conclusion
This home and project shows how we capture the essence of what our clients want and turn it into a physical reality. Our clients are delighted with their new home and all of it’s features.
